Signify has a new home!

No thanks to FedEx, Signify has finally made it to its new home in North Carolina. It was supposed to take just 2 days to travel from Kansas City to NC, which I thought would be great. However, the store where the box was dropped off failed to mark the package as “signature required.” The driver then delivered the painting to the WRONG house and just left it there. After some hunting…they finally tracked down the package today and my client now has the painting hanging in her home. Thankfully, my client had the patience of a saint through all the mess. SO glad this painting didn’t go missing for good. Take a wild guess who will be contracting UPS for their next shipment?

Original farm w/ windmill landscape

Two years ago I shot this farm out by Eudora, KS. I texturized the photo and printed only one 15×10″ print. Somehow, I’ve lost the file for this image, with no back up. Sunday I went back to the scene and re-shot this fantastic Midwestern landscape. The new textured photo is below. I like them both but they have different qualities. At least I can make some prints of the new landscape shot!

Forbes

Forbes by Jon Freeman Art

This piece will show in my next exhibit at Jones Gallery on July 1st. Forbes is different than all my other abstract works. Instead of using a gel medium or pumice for the texture in the red stripe area, I tore magazine pages into small pieces and collaged them on the canvas to create texture. I’m very happy with how this piece came out but it needs to be seen in person to be most appreciated.

Low Tide is one of my most recently completed works. Very happy with how this came out despite the fact that it is quite different from much of my other work. This one will show at the Glaspur Gallery First Friday in the Crossroads on July 1st.

City Shadows is my largest work to date.
