West Wyandotte Libary Gallery exhibit

WY West Gallery show September 2012
I get a lot of questions about my influences. My earliest influence was MN painter, Shawn McNulty. Shawn’s work is very unique. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a painter that can bring out the under layers in his work quite like Shawn can. His work was certainly an inspiration in this piece I painted in 2010. Getting the colors from beneath to come thru just right was a serious challenge in
this piece. The middle stripe is a layer of pumice, which separates the top and bottom sections of this piece with a hard line and adds another element of texture completely. This piece really needs to be seen in person to be most appreciated. Your next chance to see this work and several others in my collection will be at the Wy West Library gallery in KCK. This is a favorite gallery of mine to show in and took over one year in waiting to show here. I hope that you will come by and see my work in person in Sept. 2012. Thank you.

A new piece for my personal Abstract Art collection!
I just added a new piece to my small collection of Abstract Art. My new piece is a 24×24″ piece by Sante Fe artist, Cody Hooper. This piece is titled, Natural Melody. Natural Melody is acrylic & paper on wood panel with an oil varnish. It’s amazing in person and stops people in their tracks when they see it!

Stockholm
20×16″ Acrylic & Pumice on Canvas
Stockholm is all ready to hang right on the wall as soon as you get it Trista!!
Thanks to everyone who entered the drawing. It was a fun experience!
Catalina has sold!

Catalina is making her way out into the world. I’m very happy to have this one go out to the first person that bought my abstract art! Thanks again Tina!
Forbes
This piece will show in my next exhibit at Jones Gallery on July 1st. Forbes is different than all my other abstract works. Instead of using a gel medium or pumice for the texture in the red stripe area, I tore magazine pages into small pieces and collaged them on the canvas to create texture. I’m very happy with how this piece came out but it needs to be seen in person to be most appreciated.
Low Tide
Low Tide is one of my most recently completed works. Very happy with how this came out despite the fact that it is quite different from much of my other work. This one will show at the Glaspur Gallery First Friday in the Crossroads on July 1st.
Everest
Everest is the latest large abstract I’ve completed. It measures 40×40″ on canvas. Please see my Abstract Paintings section for all available pieces and prices. Thanks!
Nine pieces of my work now on display!
Visit the En Vogue salon in Overland Park, KS to view nine of my abstract pieces. The lobby displays two of my 30×30″ pieces, Mariposa and Burning Sea. The back wall features the new Atlantic series paintings. Please drop in and check things out!
Sean Scully
I really like this picture of Sean Scully standing next to a couple of his works. I’d like to work on canvas that is taller than me. Not exactly practical for me though…I’d have to rent a Uhaul just to exhibit such a work!
